His chittering scream
cuts through my brain again
newborn face crumpled in anger
purple and red and demonic
visions spark through my head
-flash- miniture body broken

the pitch rises
like a sirens wail
-flash- blood splattered like a rorschach
hands clenching
with repressed rage

quiety I go to him
gently I pick him up
soothingly I whispers words of love
choking back the madness
squeezing it out
-flash- hands around the tiny neck

I breath in his baby smell
so precious and unique and somehow comforting
and the moment of insanity passes
At first I thought not to post this. But I have spoken with many people and this apparently happens to everyone. Odd to think how strong mothers can be to feel such rage and love and still do the right thing.

Aww sis I think most parents have had those moments. I'm sure it varies in type and size and imagination .... but we all have moments of despair and fatigue and powerlessness ....

Honestly .. sometimes I think it's a wonder any of us get to be adults!! :D
